This Apprentice Employment Contract template provides for the Employer to employ the Apprentice following completion of the Apprenticeship (and therefore the term of the contract) if there is a suitable vacancy. In the event that there is no such vacancy, the Employer is to help the newly qualified Apprentice to find employment elsewhere.
Employer's should be aware of the special requirements concerning the employment of younger workers with particular regards to the number of hours that can be worked, the frequency and duration of breaks and the minimum wage payable.
It is a requirement under the Employment Rights Act 1996 for Employers to provide their Employees with a written statement of their main terms and conditions of employment. This must be provided within 8 weeks starting from the commencement of Employment. This Apprentice Employment Contract contains all the main terms and conditions required under the Act.
