A Power of Attorney is a legal document whereby a person called the “Donor” gives another person or persons the power to act on his behalf. The authority granted can be general or limited to specific affairs. The person or persons to whom the powers are granted are called "Attorneys". A Power of Attorney generally last for a specified period of time or until it is revoked by a Deed of Revocation.
A Donor can end a power of attorney at any time using a Deed of Revocation.
This Deed of Revocation template can be used when a Donor for whatever reason wishes to terminate a previously granted Power of Attorney and it can be used to terminate either a General Power of Attorney or a Limited Power of Attorney.
Please note that a copy of the Deed of Revocation must be sent to each Attorney because the Attorney's authority does not cease until he/she has received notice of the revocation.
